Diagnosis of Pemphigus associated with canine Leishmaniosis: a Case Report

Pemphigus is an autoimmune dermatological condition that affects dogs and has in its clinical aspects a similarity to leishmaniasis, which differential diagnosis by means of histopathological examination necessary. The present study sought report case dog, male, mixed breed, 10 years old, diagnosed with pemphigus and, later, leishmaniosis. Upon diagnosis, the animal presented only lesion nasal plane, without apathy systemic changes, as evidenced hematological biochemical tests. After performing examination, was underwent immunosuppressive treatment, obtaining significant improvement lesion. Under suspicion subjected serological exams RIFI ELISA resulting indeterminate result 1/40 reagent RIFI. As this not very relevant result, it decided perform another where presence Leishmania spp. In new exam possible obtain again, since under treatment.
